i'd like to meet anyone who's willing to be a true friend...

for free!!!
One day, when I was in the 9th grade, I saw a boy from my level, that was on his way home from school. His name is James, and he seemed to be carrying all of his books.
I thought to my self, why would this boy take his entire books home from school? He’s probably a nerd.
I had a loaded weekend, parties and a football game with my friends on Sunday afternoon, so I ignored him, and kept on going home.
As I was walking, I saw a group of boys going towards James, and they threw all his books out of his hands, and pushed him to the ground.
His glasses fell off in the distance of 3 feet from him, he looked up, and I saw the sadness in his eyes.
My heart went out to him, I run, and as he was looking around for his glasses, I saw tears in his eyes.
I gave him his glasses and said “those boys are disgusting”. He looked at me, and said “hey thanks” and smiled at me.
It was one of those true gratitude smiles, I helped him up, and gave him his books, and asked him how come I’ve never seen him before, where does he live.
Turns out that he lives right next to me, so I asked him how come I’ve never seen him before.
He said he used to go to a private school before.
I would have never made friends with a boy that’s going to a private school before.
We spoke all the way home, and I helped him carry some of his books.
Turns out that his a cool kid.
I asked him if he would like to play football with us, he said he does.
We were together throughout that whole weekend, and I started liking him, and so did my friends.
On Sunday morning, I saw him again with all the books.
I told him “looks like your gonna get some very strong muscles if your gonna carry these books every day”, he laughed, and gave me some of the books.
On the next 4 year James and I became really close friends.
When we finished high school, we started thinking about university.
I knew we were gonna sty friends even though the whole level, and even me were laughing at him for been a nerd. He had to say the graduation speech.
I saw James that day, he looked great, and he looked like one of those guys that really found them selves while been in high school.
He filled up, and looked really well, even though he was wearing glasses, he had a lot of girlfriends while been in high school.
He was exited about the speech, I told him “don’t worry, you’ll be great!” he looked at me with one of those looks (full of gratitude) smiled, and said “thank you”.
When he started the speech, he said
“The end of the high school is our time to thank everyone that helped us do it during the hard times – our parents, our teachers, but most of all our friends. I’m here to tell you that been someone’s friend is the best gift you can possibly give someone! I’m going to tell you a story” I looked at him, and couldn’t believe my hears when I heard him telling the story about the day we met.
He said he was about to kill him self that weekend.
He told how he emptied his whole locker, and cleaned it, so that his mother wouldn’t be have to do that, and carry all of his books. He looked at me, and gave me a little smile.
“Thank GOD, I was saved, my friend saved me from suicide!”
I heard the noises through the crowds, while this popular handsome and successful guy was telling about his weakest moment.
I saw his parents look at me, and smile that same gratitude smile, that until that very moment I didn’t understand what that gratitude meant.
Never underestimate the power of your actions that can change a person’s life for better or for worse.
GOD has placed us in the other’s life so that we can affect each other in different ways.
